Girls Who Code is on a mission to close the gender gap in technology and to change the image of what a programmer looks like and does. We are continuing this mission at John P. Stevens High School.
Learn About Us
Women make up only 28% of the workforce in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), and men vastly outnumber women majoring in most STEM fields in college. The gender gaps are particularly high in some of the fastest-growing and highest-paid jobs of the future, like computer science and engineering.
This is a major problem and we are pitching in to the effort to resolve it. Here at GWC, we encourage young women who are passionate about coding to pursue careers in the field of computer science so that we can reduce the gender barrier.
